There are several interesting events being planned for October and November about the history of the Wharves and East the Water. Please follow the link for full details of the events and to book your places.

Saturday 22nd October 4pm Royal Hotel Talk and Tour
A fascinating talk about the history of the present day Royal Hotel by David Lovell, researcher, followed by a special guided tour by Head receptionist Margaret Lovell who has worked for Brend Hotels for 43 years.

Monday 10.30-4pm Family Fun Day Pollyfield Centre A family event, with a chance to try on the costumes and armour of the 1600s, handle the weapons, or join in the games of the time.

Come and get shot at by the musketeers in the car park! (weather permitting)

There is also a free children’s craft workshop to make a plague rat or a scary plague mask.

Saturday 29th October 7.30pm – 9.30pm and Sunday 4.30pm -6.30pm The Wharves -the Golden Age
An encounter with Brunswick Wharf through audio, video, story telling, movement theatre and a short exploration across the bridge (and back) to help you to explore and experience the “feel” of the place- its contrasts and contradictions, its aspirations and even its romance. The grass has always looked greener on the other side of … a passage of time.

Sunday 13th November 2pm Following our successful event in August, another Share Your Stories and Two Wander along the Wharves walks at 2pm and 3.45pm.
